Samoan Language Week / Vaiaso o le Gagana Sāmoa is being held this year from Sunday 26 May to Saturday 1 June. The theme for 2019 is: ‘Lalaga le si’osi’omaga mo se lumana’i manuia’ - ‘Weave an environment for a better future’.

Learning a new language gives us insight into new ways of thinking, and to different beliefs and cultural practices. Gagana Sāmoa is the second most spoken language in Auckland and third most spoken in New Zealand.  These upu fesoasoani (useful words) will be helpful in starting out on your journey to getting better acquainted with Fa’a Samoa…
