Each whaling season� Japanese whale hunters head into southern oceans to kill the great cetaceans and back in Japanese waters they slaughter and capture dolphins. The International Whaling Commission is polarised, with pro-whaling countries able to block efforts to improve conservation measures. In this setting the Sea Shepherd goes where governments and international bodies fail to. It is only their direct action that is keeping the spotlight on the annual slaughter.
