Smart and Stupid pairs of word

English speakers often use pairs of words or phrases that sound really odd and even stupid. This can confuse migrants because such words dont seem to make any sense. But in the context of the sentence you can discover the meaning and think that it is a smart way of using words. Look at this sentence "She was awfully nice�.
