  • Producer / Presenter: Wailangilala Tufui

    A seasoned broadcaster, Wai’s radio career began in 1980 with RNZ/ Te Reo o Aotearoa, where she spent 13 years as the Tongan Programme Producer and Presenter for the Māori & Pacific Islands Unit. She co-founded, produced and presented two daily programmes on Planet FM; Koli Tala'aho (1994-1999) and Maile 'o Telusa (2005-2011). In between, she established a local radio station for the Mangere community, and from 2006-2014 produced and presented a weekly Tongan News Bulletin for SBS Radio in Melbourne.

    Assistant Secretary for the Tonga High School Ex-students Association and Convenor of the Tefua’a Vaka Lautala Media & Communications subcommittee, Fua is committed to supporting and connecting the TVL community. When she can catch a break between her volunteer work, motherhood, and her role as Financial Advisor for AIL of NZ Insurance, Fua appreciates breakfast with friends or a relaxing movie night, where a Korean or Turkish drama would be her top pick.
