An experienced broadcaster having RJ’d in Singapore and run a radio station in Sri Lanka, Malini moved to Auckland in 2017 with husband Yuge and their three sons. She is currently completing a PhD in Communications and while she loves spending time with the family, Monday mornings tend to be more relaxing than the excitement of a busy weekend of movies, handball and a house full of boys!
Yuge is a singer and actor, whose work includes singing for the Oscar-winning producer A. R. Rahman, of Slumdog Millionaire fame. It was in this capacity he met wife Malini, when he appeared as a guest at the radio station she was running in Sri Lanka. He spends some time in Singapore running a TV production company and getting as much spicy food in as he can before heading back to NZ to enjoy some family time.
If you don't know his face, you may yet recognise his voice. Gokulraj is a talented mimic, known for his spot-on imitations of Thamil film stars. Between that and a bit of singing, he is never short of invitations to perform at community events! A keen traveller, Gokulraj moved from Chennai to Auckland for study, but enjoys exploring other parts of NZ when he can.
