Created in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Kalapu Longolongo Aotearoa Trust Board present this weekly programme with the purpose of informing the elderly population, their families and care workers about support services available, along with advice for maintaining health and wellbeing.
Secretary for Kalapu Longolongo Aotearoa Trust since its inception in 2014, Sione has over 25 years’ experience within both the Education and Health sectors as well as Justice and Corrections. He currently works as Pacific Health Portfolio Manager for the Auckland/Waitemata District Health Boards and has been involved in developing various public health and community development initiatives.
President of the Kalapu Longolongo Aotearoa Trust Board, Sione is committed to health initiatives that serve the Tongan community. Both a Senior Lecturer (AUT) and Nurse Lead Pacific at Counties Manukau District Health Board, he has undertaken research centred on Pacific world views and constructions of health, with a focus on mental health. When he’s off-duty, Sione enjoys time with family and friends as well as talanoa at faikava circles.
