David Shearer became the M.P. for Mt. Albert in June 2009. Previously he headed the U.N.’s rehabilitation and reconstruction programme in Iraq and has been involved in humanitarian work in conflict zones throughout the world. He was born and grew up in Auckland, is the father of two, surfs and likes classic cars.
